The AHHS Most Valuable Pitch (MVP) is a pitch competition created for current Arlington Heights students and students from Monnig and Stripling Middle Schools .  Big Ideas are welcomed and rewarded and should be inspired by your creativity and passion to create a better world. 

Submit an original business idea that, in 3 minutes or less, describes an innovative product or service that you would like create. Or, you can tell us about a business you've already launched!

To encourage the entrepreneurial mindset in youth, the Jacobson Institute at the University of Iowa, sponsors the Innovator Competition each fall and spring. This investment in the future of entrepreneurship provides high school innovators with financial support and feedback from successful entrepreneurs. 
1st Place: $1,500   2nd Place: $1,000   3rd Place: $500
Who Can Compete? 
  • ANY 9 – 12 grade student can compete
  • Students just need a business idea, motivation, and passion to compete
  • NO background or course work in business is required
Important Dates:
Application Deadline: April 26, 2021
Finalists notified: Week of May 3, 2021
Online Innovator Competition (via zoom): Week of May 17, 2021

Lockheed Martin Vocational Scholarship Program

The Lockheed Martin Vocational Scholarship Program ​ is awarding over 100 scholarships of $6,600 each for students pursuing associate degrees and vocational-technical certifications in specified fields of study. 

To apply, students must be: 
  • U.S. Citizens 
  • High school graduates (or GED equivalent), undergraduates with less than a bachelor’s degree, or high school seniors  
  • Planning to enroll part-time or full-time at an accredited vocational technical school, trade school, two-year community or state college for the 2021-2022 academic year 
  • Pursuing an associate degree, credit-bearing certificate or an industry-recognized credential in one of the specified fields of study

KPMG Future Leaders Program Scholarship Application

​Annually awards to 22 top female high school seniors 
Students compete for $10,000 college scholarship/year for 4 years, attendance at a leadership retreat, and pairing with a year-long mentor
Applications accepted through February 1, 2021
Applicant criteria includes:
  • High school female senior planning to enroll in a 4-year undergraduate program for the upcoming 2021 fall semester
  • Proven track record of academic excellence and leadership potential
  • Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA
  • Interest in a business or STEM academic track
  • Demonstrates a significant financial need
  • Letter of recommendation from a nonprofit/community organization

My Brothers’ Keeper Entrepreneurship Competition

My Brother’s Keeper of Fort Worth ISD has received $25,000 in grant funding from the Rainwater Charitable Foundation that will be awarded exclusively to students in the FWISD

The grant will be used to fund 10 FWISD student enterprises; they serve all the high schools and 14 of the middle schools within the FWISD

To register, students simply need to go to MBKCONTEST.COM and follow the instructions

By registering to participate in the contest your students will access to the following:
  • Free on demand entrepreneurship courses in the MBK online Academy
  • Options to attend our live weekly zoom entrepreneurship training sessions
  • A chance to interact with other young entrepreneurship in our virtual community
  • A chance to win $2,500 in business development funding to start their own business
Each school will have regularly scheduled virtual sessions; participating students can take the self-paced on demand course for free at  MBKCONTEST.COM
  • Winners will be selected around the last week of April
  • This is a limited time offer and access will be discontinued once the number of participants exceeds our capacity to effectively serve them. Therefore, we encourage you to inform your students as soon as possible so that they may have a chance to participate in this competition.

BNSF Technology Awareness Day​  - Click on the link to go to the website
BNSF is preparing for the virtual 2021 Technology Awareness (last week in February) 
Arts A/V, Information Technology, and STEM Teachers received an email last December but the program is open to all students
Four competitions with awards/prizes available to high school students: 

  • essay, 
  • graphic art, 
  • mobile app/website design, and 
  • video
Space for the contest is limited in size so registration for the contest with awards/prizes will cut off when the event is full
